Interested in submitting a selection for consideration?
Here are the requirements:
- Recordings must exclusively feature the human voice.
- No other instruments will appear on the compilation.
- However, feel free to use recordings of voices themselves to create new instrumental sounds via synth, analog, or digital means.
- No words. No lyrics. Just the sound of the voice. (Interpret as ye will).
- Feel free to manipulate, edit, effect, fracture, distort, and mix those voices into any structure (or non-structure), genre, or audio experience you would like.
- Recordings should be limited to three (3) minutes max.
- No cover songs, no discernible samples of spoken or sung text unless in the public domain, no recitations of existing compositions. Submissions should contain only original and unique work.
If you can hang with all of those requirements, then here's how to submit your work...
To submit a selection for consideration, please send a link to the piece (private Bandcamp or Soundcloud is preferred). Do not send audio files via email as they will not be opened.
Submissions may be sent to: weirding@bornwithhair.com. Deadline is September 30, 2021.
Decisions will be made as to selections no later than October 31, 2021.
Selected pieces will need to be made available in standard format as .WAV 44.1 kHz 16 bit (64kbps/channel) stereo. The compilation will be professionally mastered, so please send uncompressed and unmastered .WAVs with minimal compression and limiting on the final stereo bounces. We can discuss prior to the final delivery of the tracks to make sure everything will sound best on the comp.
The compilation will be made available free of charge for streaming and download exclusively on Bandcamp with a recommendation that a donation be made directly to Amnesty International.
Note that the individual tracks and the compilation as a whole will be made available under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
